Khachatryan's career began in the retail industry. He co-founded the grocery chain Kopeika with partners. In 2007, Khachatryan co-founded Fix Price with Sergei Lomakin, which became Russia's largest chain of fixed-price variety stores. This business model proved popular with Russian consumers, leading to rapid expansion across Russia and neighboring countries. Fix Price went public in 2021.
