Early Life and Education
Anurang Jain was born on March 21, 1962. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Jain's early life was influenced by his family's connection to the Bajaj family, with his mother being the sister of Rahul Bajaj. Jain was inspired by his family to build a business of his own.
Rise to Success
Anurang Jain's career began in 1985 when he started Anurang Engineering Company, later renamed Endurance Technologies. The company initially supplied aluminum castings to Bajaj Auto, his uncle's company. Jain's strategic vision led Endurance Technologies to expand its product portfolio to include shock absorbers, front forks, clutch assemblies, and disc brakes, developing proprietary technology. By 2005, he recognized the need to diversify the customer base beyond Bajaj Auto and began to acquire global auto parts businesses.
Key Business Strategies
Jain's success is attributed to his strategic decisions and calculated risks. He focused on technological upgradation and expanded Endurance Technologies' operations globally, including 19 factories in India and 12 in Europe. His acquisitions and focus on innovative products helped to increase their share of business and reduce dependency on the Indian market.
Philanthropy
Jain is involved in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility. He supports causes related to education and technology access for underprivileged communities. He launched a COVID-19 food relief program named Get Shift Done in March 2020 and has served over 60 million meals. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the US India Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman-Emeritus of the North Texas Food Bank.
