Early Life
Antonio Percassi was born in Clusone, Italy, on June 9, 1953. Growing up in a family of modest means, he developed a strong work ethic that would later define his career. Percassi initially pursued a career in football, making his debut for Atalanta at the age of 17. He played as a defender, showcasing his physical presence and determination on the field.
Rise to Success
At the age of 23, Percassi transitioned from his football career to focus on entrepreneurship. His initial venture was in real estate, followed by a pivotal meeting with Luciano Benetton in 1976, which led to a 30-year collaboration and the opening of the first Benetton store in Bergamo. Percassi managed numerous Benetton stores across Italy and internationally, gaining valuable experience in retail management.
One of his most significant achievements was the creation of KIKO Milano in 1997, a cosmetics brand that experienced rapid international expansion. Percassi also partnered with the Inditex Group to bring Zara to Italy in 2001. Furthermore, he developed the luxury-clothing brand Billionaire Italian Couture with designer Flavio Briatore in 2007.

Percassi's business strategy involved a combination of retail development and real estate ventures. This approach led to the development of major projects, including the Orio Center Shopping Center and the Westfield Milan Shopping Center. Additionally, Percassi has collaborated with numerous international brands, including Swatch, Nike, Levi's, Calvin Klein, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, Ferrari, and Ralph Lauren. In 2010, Percassi returned as president of Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio, a role he previously held from 1990 to 1994, further demonstrating his diverse interests and leadership skills.

Beyond his business endeavors, Percassi is involved in philanthropy. He has supported the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, providing financial aid and resources. He also established the Antonio Percassi Family Foundation, indicating a commitment to giving back to society.
