Early Life and Education
Anne Dinning was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She pursued her passion for computer science, earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in 1984. She furthered her education by obtaining a Ph.D. in computer science from New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

Dinning's career took off when she joined D.E. Shaw in 1990. She was one of the early employees, drawn by the opportunity to develop software for a pioneering quantitative investment firm.
