She is the daughter of Albert Beaufour, who managed the family's business empire, and the granddaughter of Dr. Henri Beaufour, the founder of Beaufour Laboratories, which later became Ipsen. Growing up in a family with deep roots in the pharmaceutical sector, Anne developed an early interest in science and business.

Anne Beaufour holds a degree in geology from the University of Paris-Sud. After completing her education, she joined the family business, Ipsen, founded by her grandfather in 1929. She quickly ascended through the ranks, taking on various leadership roles. She served as the Chief Operating Officer of Ipsen, playing a key role in expanding the company's global reach and its portfolio of innovative drugs. Following her father Albert's death in 2000, the family's 76% stake in Ipsen was divided among his children, with Anne and her brother Henri Beaufour currently controlling about 52%.
