Early Life
Andres Santo Domingo was born in New York City to Julio Mario Santo Domingo, a prominent Colombian businessman. He attended St. Bernard's School and the Hotchkiss School before graduating from Brown University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature.
Rise to Success
Santo Domingo's rise is closely tied to his inheritance from his father. Upon Julio Mario's death in 2011, Andres inherited a portion of his father’s significant stake in SABMiller. Following AB InBev's acquisition of SABMiller in 2016, the bulk of his fortune became associated with AB InBev, the world's largest brewer. In 2002, Santo Domingo co-founded Kemado Records, a record label based in Brooklyn.
Key Business Strategies
Santo Domingo's wealth is primarily derived from his stake in AB InBev, a company that has grown through strategic mergers and acquisitions. AB InBev's success is driven by its global presence and its portfolio of over 400 beer brands.
Philanthropy
Andres Santo Domingo is actively involved in philanthropy. He serves on the boards of Conservation International and the New York Public Library. He and his wife have also been involved in fundraising events for various organizations, including DKMS, which focuses on blood cancer research.
