Early Life
Andrei Anatolyevich Kozitsyn was born in 1960 in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Russia. Growing up in the Ural Mountains region, he developed a deep connection to the area that would later shape his career and philanthropic endeavors. He holds a master's degree in engineering from Ural Polytechnic Institute.
Rise to Success
Kozitsyn began his career as a mechanic at Uralelectromed. Through hard work and dedication, he rose through the ranks, eventually serving as the General Director from 1995 to 2002. In the late 1990s, he co-founded UMMC with Iskander Makhmudov. UMMC quickly emerged as a leading player in the mining and metallurgical industry, becoming one of the largest copper producers in Russia. Kozitsyn served as General Director of UMMC-Holding in 2002. Kozitsyn's business ventures extend beyond UMMC. He closely collaborates with Iskander Makhmudov, co-owning various companies in the Ural region.

The Russian Orthodox Church has named him to the Order of Sergius of Radonezh. He has also been recognized with the title of Honorary Citizen of Verkhnyaya Pyshma.
