Anatoly Georgievich Skurov was born on December 7, 1952, in the Tula Oblast, USSR. After graduating from the Mining Department of the Tula Polytechnic Institute in 1975, he embarked on a career in the coal industry.
Rise to Success
Skurov's career began at the Kopeisk Engineering Plant, a key manufacturer of mining equipment. He advanced to become the Chief Technical Designer and Head of the Plant's Design Bureau in 1988. His expertise led to 41 patents in coal mining. In 1995, Skurov co-founded the private coal mining company Sibuglemet, where he served as CEO and later as President of Sibuglemet Holding Company. In 2017 Skurov started coal mining project Uvalnaya. Forbes has recognized his success by including him in their lists of wealthy individuals.
