Early Life and Education
Amy Adams Strunk was born September 29, 1955, in Houston, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a degree in history. Growing up in a family of oil entrepreneurs and business executives, Strunk was immersed in a world of business from a young age. She also built an independent career spanning over 30 years as the owner and president of Kenada Farms, a horse breeding operation, and Little River Oil and Gas Company, while also serving as vice president of Bud Adams Ranches, Inc.
Rise to Success
Strunk's path to becoming a controlling owner of the Tennessee Titans was marked by family transitions. After her father, Bud Adams, passed away in 2013, she inherited a share of the team. She took over the role of controlling owner in March 2015. During her tenure, Strunk has been instrumental in transforming the franchise, leading to six consecutive winning seasons (2016-2021).
Key Business Strategies
Since taking control, Strunk has focused on modernizing the business. She hired Jon Robinson as General Manager and Mike Vrabel as Head Coach, while installing Steve Underwood and then Burke Nihill to the position of President/ CEO. Her commitment to improving the franchise extended to the construction of a new stadium, set to open in 2027, which will significantly increase the team's revenue. Strunk was also key in bringing the 2019 NFL Draft to Nashville, resulting in a record-breaking economic impact for the city.
Philanthropy
Impacting the community has also been a key focus for Strunk. She has contributed to causes such as the Waverly community after its 2021 flooding disaster and tornado relief in Middle Tennessee in 2022. She also supports local businesses and other causes in Nashville and the greater Tennessee area.
