Alexey Evgenievich Repik was born on August 27, 1979, in Moscow, Russia. His father was a physicist, and his mother was an engineer. Repik showed an early interest in healthcare and pharmaceuticals. He graduated from the Higher School of Economics in 2003 with a degree in economics and enterprise management.
Rise to Success
Repik's career began in the healthcare sector in 1995. In 2001, he founded R-Pharm with a modest starting capital of $40,000. Under his leadership, R-Pharm rapidly expanded and secured significant government contracts, becoming a leading supplier of pharmaceuticals in Russia. In 2017, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. acquired a 10% share of R-Pharm for $200 million. Repik held the position of Chairman of the Board until 2022. R-Pharm was involved in producing a COVID-19 vaccine for AstraZeneca.
