Alejandro Santo Domingo was born in New York City on February 13, 1977. He is the son of the Colombian billionaire Julio Mario Santo Domingo and Beatrice Dávila. He attended the Hotchkiss School and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Harvard University.

Santo Domingo's career has centered on managing the Santo Domingo Group, the family's extensive conglomerate. He is also a Senior Managing Director at Quadrant Capital Advisors. He was a key negotiator in the deals that led to the 2016 merger between Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller.
