Alejandro Baillères Gual was born in May 1960, into a prominent Mexican family with deep roots in business. He is the son of Alberto Baillères, a renowned businessman and philanthropist who built a significant fortune in the mining industry. Alejandro attended the American College of Switzerland, and later earned a degree from Stanford University.

Alejandro began his career within Grupo BAL in 1989, joining the board of directors of Industrias Peñoles, a major mining company. He took over the leadership of Grupo BAL in 2021, succeeding his father. Under his leadership, Grupo Bal has diversified its operations and adapted to modern business trends. He is also the CEO of Grupo Nacional Provincial (GNP), a leading Mexican financial services company.
