Early Life and Education
Abhay Firodia was born in 1944 into a prominent business family. His father, Navalmal Firodia, established Bajaj Tempo (now Force Motors). Firodia received his education at The Scindia School in Gwalior and later earned a degree in Economics from Fergusson College in Pune.
Rise to Success
Firodia joined Force Motors in 1975 and served as the Managing Director until 2009. Under his leadership, Force Motors expanded into various domains of automotive manufacturing, including producing commercial vehicles and providing solutions for automotive majors. He played a key role in launching iconic brands such as Tempo, Matador, and Traveller. He is also known for being the chairman of Jaya Hind Industries and holding stakes in Bajaj Group companies. His son, Prasan, has been running the business since 2009.
Key Business Strategies
Force Motors focuses on producing light commercial vehicles (LCVs), multi-utility vehicles (MUVs), and agricultural tractors. The company manufactures engines for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Rolls-Royce. Force Motors has a strong presence in the market for light transport vehicles, also making its own components. The company has a wide distribution network with over 300+ sales and service touchpoints across India. Force Motors has also expanded its footprint internationally, exporting vehicles and automotive components to various markets.

Abhay Firodia is involved in philanthropic activities. He is the Chairman of Shri Firodia Trust and Multanchand Bora Trust, which support healthcare, education, and social welfare. Furthermore, he is actively involved in constructing a museum to showcase the culture, history, and philosophy of the Jain community in India.
