Early Life
Abdullah Al Othaim was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1960. His grandfather was a cleric, and his father established a retail business in the mid-1950s. Abdullah attended Qadisiyah Primary School and later enrolled in college but dropped out to work with his father.
Rise to Success
After his father's death, Abdullah and his brothers inherited a sum, and he was the only one to continue in the retail business. He founded Abdullah Al-Othaim Markets in 1980. Over the years, he expanded the business, transforming it into a limited liability company in 2000 and later a joint-stock company. Abdullah Al-Othaim Markets was listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) in 2008.
