Early Life
Sergey Lomakin was born in Moscow in 1973. He studied at the Moscow State Mining University and later earned an MBA from the Academy of National Economy.
Rise to Success
Lomakin's entrepreneurial journey began in 1998 when he co-founded the Kopeika supermarket chain with Artem Khachatryan and Alexander Samonov. From 1998 to 2007, he served as the chain's CEO, building it into a prominent asset. In 2007, Lomakin and Khachatryan sold their shares in Kopeika. In the same year, they founded the investment company Sun Investments Partners, and then started investing in discounters like Fix Price. Lomakin became the ideological leader behind Fix Price, opening the first store personally. The chain went public in 2021, and Lomakin serves as chairman. In December 2023, he bought almost all of Khachatryan's stake in the company.
