Ramesh C. Juneja was born on July 28, 1955, and hails from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. He came from a middle-class family. After completing his science graduation, Juneja began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1974 as a medical representative with KeePharma Ltd. He then joined Lupin Limited in 1975 and worked there as a first-line manager for about 8 years.
Rise to Success
In 1995, Ramesh Juneja co-founded Mankind Pharma with his younger brother Rajeev Juneja. The company started with an initial investment of ₹50 lakhs and a team of 25 medical representatives. Under his leadership, Mankind Pharma focused on providing affordable medicines, which resonated with the Indian market. The company quickly grew, becoming the fourth-largest pharmaceutical company in India. Mankind Pharma launched an IPO in April 2023, with the stock listed at a 20% premium.
