Rahel Blocher was born in Männedorf, Switzerland, on October 18, 1976. She is the youngest of four children of Christoph Blocher and Silvia Blocher. Her father, a well-known industrialist and politician, founded his wealth on EMS-Chemie.
Rise to Success
Rahel Blocher earned a degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen. After her studies, she worked at Clariant and Elma Electronic before taking on a role at Robinvest, her father’s investment company. In 2004, Christoph Blocher, upon entering Swiss politics, transferred his shares in EMS-Chemie to his four children, including Rahel. While her sister, Magdalena Martullo-Blocher, became CEO of EMS-Chemie, Rahel focused on managing Robinvest and became a shareholder in EMS-Chemie.
