Early Life
Giuseppe Crippa was born in Robbiate, Italy, on May 5, 1935. He developed a fascination with electronics early in life. After a brief period at Breda, he joined SGS-ATES (later STMicroelectronics) in 1960 and worked there for 30 years. He held important roles in production, processes, and quality management. During his tenure at SGS-Ates/STMicroelectronics, Crippa had the opportunity to manage the production of the first silicon transistors in Italy.
Rise to Success
Crippa founded Technoprobe in 1989, starting in his garage and attic with his son, Cristiano. The company manufactured probe cards to test microchips. In 1995, Crippa retired from STMicroelectronics to focus on Technoprobe. The company expanded, opening its first office in Cernusco Lombardone in 1996. Technoprobe expanded internationally, opening offices in France, Singapore, and the United States. Technoprobe went public on Euronext Milan in February 2022.
Key Business Strategies
Crippa's focus on quality and innovation were key to Technoprobe's growth. He aimed to create a high-tech enterprise in Italy and his pursuit of perfection was central to the company's spirit and strategy. Technoprobe's early customer was STMicroelectronics, but expanded its market through international expansion. Technoprobe is now a global leader in probe card production.
Philanthropy
The Mariarosa and Giuseppe Crippa Foundation was established in May 2023 to provide structure to the philanthropic activities of the Crippa family. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Technoprobe provided an area for a vaccination hub where 160,000 vaccine doses were administered.
